The first World’s Fair took place in London in 1851, introducing many new products to a wider audience for the first time. Among the innovations was the fern seat, which quickly took off and became a common feature in English parks and gardens. The model also spread to other countries and soon several Swedish foundries had the fern-design seat in their product portfolio. Of these, only Byarums Bruk now remains.
