Fungi is Mårten Cyrén’s stool for urban spaces, a signal to take a break, a place to sit whether indoors or outdoors, in urban, park or harbour settings. Mårten’s ambition was to achieve a simple and clear form that makes the most of what casting techniques can achieve. A design where number, placement and orientation become important for the overall look. The result was an enclosed, unified form, inspired by quayside bollards, mushrooms in the woods, a piece of fruit or a nut.
